TRILATERAL BETWEEN GUYANA, SURINAME AND BARBADOS
His Excellency Dr Irfaan Ali attended a trilateral meeting with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Barbados, the Honourable Mia Amor Mottley and the President of the Republic of Suriname, His Excellency Chandrikapersad Santokhi at the Marriott Hotel this afternoon.
The leaders are looking to advance collaboration among the nations.
PRESIDENT ALI TO INFORM REGIONAL HEADS, UN ABOUT VENEZUELA’S LATEST BORDER CONTROVERSY
Georgetown, Guyana—(September 12, 2021) His Excellency Dr Irfaan Ali plans to formally notify heads of government in the region about the accord made between the Government of Venezuela and its opposition last week in Mexico City.
He told the media this afternoon that he would also inform the mediators of the meeting about the “controversial” accord.

October 3 is a special day to Guyana and to Venezuela. It is special to the rule of law internationally. It is special to peace and justice worldwide.
122 years ago, on 3 October 1899 – on an autumn day in Paris – the Anglo-Venezuelan Arbitral Tribunal which had met there (in the halls of the French Foreign Ministry) in the preceding three months – delivered its Award fixing the Boundary between Venezuela and British Guiana.
